NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I [R1 is COOCH3 (in this case, R2 and R3 are bonded to form O or one of R2 and R3 is H and the other is OH or protected OH) or CH3 (in this case, one of R2 and R3 is H and the other is OH)].
EXAMPLE: (3S, 4R, 5R, 6R)-4-(N-Methoxycarbonyl-N-methyl)amino-3,5-dimethoxy methyloxy-6-methyl-6-(1,4,5,8-tetramethoxynaphtahlen-2-yl)-3,4,5,6-tetrahy dro-2-pyran.
USE: An intermediate for a carcinostatic agent.
PREPARATION: Li salt of a compound shown by formula III is added to a com pound shown by formula III to give a compound shown by formula IV, then its t-butyldimethylsilyl group is removed to give a compound shown by formula V. Further this compound is oxidized to give a compound shown by formula VI among a compound shown by formula I. A novel carcinostatic agent shown by formula VII (R5 is H or OH-protecting group) can be industrially produced from the compound shown by formula I.
