Abstract:
To provide apparatus and methods for degassing liquid introduced into tissue during fluid enhanced RF ablation.SOLUTION: An ablation apparatus can include an elongate body 102, an ablation element 105, a heating assembly 110, and a liquid source. Liquid in the liquid source can be at least partially degassed prior to being provided as part of the system. Alternatively, a degassing apparatus 119 can be provided that can degas liquid within the system prior to supplying the liquid to a diseased site to be treated. The degassing apparatus 119 can include one or more gas-permeable and liquid-impermeable tubes, which allow gas to be removed from liquid passing through the apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
