Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an abnormality diagostic method for a roll cooling equipment by which the malfunction of many nozzles or stop valves for coolling rolls is automatically detected.
CONSTITUTION: Roll cooling is executed by arranging plural cooling nozzles 12 having valves whose remote opening/closing control is individually possible on a discharge pipe 4 of cooling water and also the abnormal operation of the cooling nozzles 12 and valves is detected by detecting and deciding abnormal deformed parts R' on the surface of roll in a position corresponding to the cooling nozzle with a roll profile detecting sensors 9a-9f for the roll 2.
