PURPOSE: To obtain an abrasion resistant composite material having high abrasion and toughness inexpensively by melt-sticking high hardness particles and high toughness material to one body.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of producing a ripper point 2 mixed with high hardness particles 1 on the leading end side, a mold 5 is manufactured, and while molten metal which is a base material having high toughness is charged through a sprue 6, the particles 1 are charged simultaneously through a charging port 6a. The particles 1 are included in the leading end side of the point 2, and when the charging of the molten metal necessary for casting the leading end side of the point 2 is completed, the charging of the high hardness particles is ceased, and the root end side of the point 2 is cast with only the molten metal. After the point 2 is hardened, it is tempered.
