Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of the scratch on the surface of a body to be polished by providing an abrasive layer having an uneven shallow undulation on its surface, on the base material for an abrasive tape, so that fine polishing chips being produced during the polishing operation can be caught.
SOLUTION: A coating material of 10 to 80g(dry)/m2 in which abrasive grains have been dispersed in the liquid of binding resin containing an abrasive grain dispersing agent is thickly coated all over the one side surface of the base material 2 for an abrasive tape consisting of a low heat-contractive SG type of polyethylene terephthalate film, and then it is dreid. Further, aging treatment is carried out for forming an abrasive layer 3 having an uneven shallow undulation on its surface, and an objective abrasive tape 1 is obtained. The polishing work by which the occurrence of the scratch on the surface of a body to be polished is hardly caused can be carried out by this abrasive tape 1.
