PURPOSE: To enhance the absorbency and the retentivity of humor by laying a layer composed of a copolymer of vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride-methyl methacrylate, and a polymethyl methacrylate on the side where it makes contact with an absorbing layer composed of water-absorbing paper which is disposed in water and/or water-absorbing surface.
CONSTITUTION: This absorbent sanitary article is composed of a water- permeable front surface layer 1, a waterproof rear surface layer 2 and an absorbing layer 3. The waterproof rear surface layer 2 is formed of a laminated film composed of a layer 2a formed of a copolymer of vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride- methyl methacrylate, and polymethacrylate, and a film layer 2b made of polyvinyl alcohol and laminated with the layer 2a, the layer 2a being set on the side where it makes contact with the absorbing layer 3. The water-permeable outer surface layer 1 and the waterproof rear surface layer 2 embraces the absorbing layer 3 therebetween, and are integrally incorporated at their ends 4, 4' with each other. Further, the layer 2a has a weight ratio between the copolymer of vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride-methyl methacrylate, and polymethyl methacrylate, which is preferably set in a range of 50:50 to 90:10.
