To provide an absorber having a block-type absorbent core, however, stabilizing the absorbent core structure even after absorption of fluid, and hardly causing damage of a core wrap sheet and water absorptive polymer in manufacturing.
An absorber 4 comprises an absorbent core 40 and a core wrap sheet 5B. The absorbent core 40 includes: a pulp fiber layer 44 including pulp fibers but not including water absorptive polymer, and a mixing layer 45 including pulp fibers and the water absorptive polymer, which are continuously formed in the thickness direction; and linear recessed parts 41 and a plurality of small absorption parts 43 formed by dividing into a plurality of areas by the linear recessed parts 41, which are formed on a surface 40b of the pulp fiber layer side. The small absorption parts 43 have a basis weight higher than that of bottom parts 42 of the linear recessed parts, and the mixing layer 45 is continued in a plane direction via the bottom part 42. The small absorption parts 43, inside thereof, are formed with fitting recesses 47 that are recessed from a surface 40b in the pulp fiber layer side towards the mixing layer 45 side, and the core wrapper sheet 5B is inserted in the fitting recesses 47.
