To prevent the undershooting of the cold water outlet temperature when an extremely low load is started and at the same time cool the cold water exit temperature of a high load quickly by providing a temperature sensor for detecting external air temperature and setting a timing for starting a refrigerant pump based on the measurement value.
In an absorption freezer consisting of, for example, a low- pressure reproduction equipment 12, a condenser 13, an absorption equipment 14, a high-temperature heat exchanger 15, and a low-temperature heat exchanger 16, a heat source 1 is thrown to the high-voltage reproduction equipment 2 and a solution pump 3 is driven, thus circulating and condensing a solution 4 and storing a refrigerant 5 in an evaporator 6. In this case, a refrigerant pump 9 is started according to the output of an external air temperature sensor 8. A solution temperature and an external temperature are in a specific relationship, so that the external temperature is considered by a controller 11 and the refrigerant pump 9 is started. Also, when the refrigerant pump 9 is started according to the refrigeration level of the evaporator 6, control is made by a level sensor 10.
