This absorption heat pump comprises a first absorber AH absorbing refrigerant steam by an absorbing liquid and heating a heated medium, a second absorber AL heating a refrigerant liquid flowing in a second heated medium flow channel, a regenerator G evaporating the refrigerant from the absorbing liquid introduced thereto, a condenser C condensing the refrigerant steam evaporated by the regenerator, a first evaporator EH receiving the refrigerant liquid condensed by the condenser, and delivering the refrigerant steam generated in a second heated medium flow channel to the first absorber, a second evaporator EL receiving the refrigerant liquid condensed by the condenser, and evaporating the refrigerant steam from the refrigerant liquid, a device for stopping the absorption of refrigerant steam by the absorbing liquid in the second absorber, a refrigerant steam flow channel 25 communicating the first evaporator or the first absorber, and the second evaporator or the second absorber, and a refrigerant steam flow rate adjusting device 28 for adjusting a flow rate of the refrigerant steam flow channel.
