To provide an absorptive resin particle excellent in diffusiveness of urine and an absorptive article which is obtained by using the absorptive resin particle and does not cause problems such as a rash.

The absorptive resin particle contains: a cross-linked polymer (A1) obtained by using a water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a hydrolyzable vinyl monomer (a2) and a cross-linking agent (b) as essential constituent units; a hydrophobic substance (C), the content of which is 0.01-10.0 wt.% on the basis of the weight of the cross-linked polymer (A1) and a part of which exists on the surface of the absorptive resin particle; and a nonionic surfactant (D) which also exists on the surface of the absorptive resin particle and has 8-16 HLB.
