An AC superconductive conductor consists of plural stand wires stranding twisted composite multi-core super-conductive element wires 2 composed of an ordinary conducting metal matrix to be selected from a group composed of Cu and a Cu alloy and plural super-conductive metal filaments embedded in this matrix. In this strand wire, the superconductive element wires 2 are stranded in a direction identical to a twisting direction of the super- conductive element wires themselves, and a strand pitch of the super-conductive element wires is 4 to 8 times as large as the outer diameter of the strand wire.
