PURPOSE: To improve the operability of a position input device.

CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with acceleration sensors 11 and 12 detecting each acceleration while a position input device 1 is moving. When the moving amount in each direction of an X-axis and a Y-axis is calculated in a moving amount calculation circuit 13 based on the output of each of these acceleration sensors and a position input is performed, the inclined angle for the X-axis direction of the position input device is in an angler detection circuit 15 and the calculated moving amount of each direction of the X-axis and Y-axis is adjusted by each inclined angle detected in the angle detection circuit by a moving amount adjusting circuit 16. As a result, the switch operation for storing this inclined angle data in a memory every time the position input device moves becomes unnecessary and operability can be improved.
