Title:
ACCELERATION DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01126562
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive and highly durable detector with a small construction, by arranging a photocoupler (PHC) to detect vibration of a pendulum facing an upper end face or a lower end face thereof in a non-contact manner. CONSTITUTION:A sectorial pendulum 2 having a proper radian is set in a case 1 in such a manner as to oscillate freely through a shaft 3 provided on the pivot of the sector thereof. An end face 2a of the pendulum has a smooth curved surface with a fixed radius of curvature. A PHC 4 is so set as to have a light receiving/emitting surface 4a facing the end face 2a of the pendulum 2. Then, when acceleration is applied to the case 1, an optical signal transmitted from the PHC 4 is reflected at the end face 2a of the pendulum 2 to keep an output of a PHC 7 ON while the end face 2a of the pendulum 2 is within a view of field of the PHC 4. On the other hand, when the acceleration is further applied, the end face 2a of the pendulum 2 is off the state of facing the PHC 4 and an optical signal transmitted from the PHC 7 fails to be reflected to have an output of the PHC 4 OFF. Thus, acceleration can be detected by checking such a change in the output of the PHC 7.
