Abstract:
To make the energy and the amount of an ion beam, taken out from an accelerator, controllable.SOLUTION: In a high frequency wave generator 42, a variable energy accelerator 1 is impregnated with ions, and a high frequency acceleration cavity 21 is made to generate a high-frequency electric field. The high frequency wave generator 42 reduces the magnitude of the high-frequency electric field, before the kinetic energy of the ions reaches a target energy, and stops generation of the high-frequency electric field at such a timing that the kinetic energy of the ions becomes the target energy. A harmonic mode generator 44 makes the high frequency acceleration cavity 21 generate an electromagnetic field of harmonic mode, when taking out the ions from the variable energy accelerator 1, and a disturbance generator 48 makes an electrode 313 for disturbance generate an electric field for disturbance, when taking out the ions from the variable energy accelerator 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
