PURPOSE: To improve accelerating activity and crosslinking rate by allowing an accelerator to contain a compound which is derived from a secondary amine and belongs to enamines.
CONSTITUTION: An accelerator comprising a compound of formula II (wherein R1 and R2 are each as shown in formula I; R3 and R4 are each H, a straight- or branched 1-18C alkyl, a 2-28C alkenyl, a 6-18C aryl or a 7-30C alkyl aryl, or together with a linked C=C double bond form a 3-12C cycloalkenyl; and R5 is H, an alkyl, a cycloalkylene or the like) which belongs to enamines is obtained by allowing 1 mol secondary amine of formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are each a straight or branched 1-18C alkyl, a 2-18C alkenyl, a 3-8C cycloalkyl, a 6-18C aryl, a 7-20C alkyl aryl or aryl alkyl, or together with an N atom forms a 3-8C heterocyclic group) to react with 0.5 mol aliphatic- or alicyclic aldehyde or an open or cyclic ketone having at least one H at the α-position against an aldehyde or a ketone carbonyl, in the presence of a catalyst at from 20 to 120°C under an atmospheric pressure for from 0.5 to 8 hours.
