Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress explosive combustion of a lithium ion battery housed in a power storage device, that is caused by a building fire.SOLUTION: A power storage device 12 comprises a battery module 30 housing a plurality of lithium ion batteries. An AC power of a commercial AC system is converted into a DC power at a switching power supply part 26, and the power is stored in the battery module 30 via a bi-directional DC/DC converter 28 and utilized. A housing container for the battery module 30 is provided with a smoke-generation extinguisher device 48. The smoke-generation extinguisher device 48, when detecting a fire caused by combustion of the lithium ion battery, ejects fire extinction aerosol into the container for the battery module 30 and extinguishes the fire.
