Abstract:
To provide an accumulation apparatus and a sorting method which sequentially form a paper bundle at high speed.SOLUTION: A pair of conveying bodies 40 are provided to receive a signature S1. One of the pair of conveying bodies 40 is configured to be driven rotatably. The signature S1 is conveyed to an accumulation unit 5 to pass through the pair of conveying bodies 40 while being sandwiched by the pair of conveying bodies 40 from either side from the signature. Once the last signature S1 of a paper bundle B passes through the pair of conveying bodies 40, the conveying bodies 40 are switched from continuous rotation to intermittent rotation or suspension to prevent, by the pair of conveying bodies 40, the signature S1 of the next paper bundle B from being fed to the accumulation unit 5. Moreover, once the accumulation unit 5 can accept the signature S1 of the next paper bundle B, the conveying bodies 40 are switched from the intermittent rotation or suspension to the continuous rotation to feed, by the pair of conveying bodies 40, the signature S1 of the next paper bundle B to the accumulation unit 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
