Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an accumulator for an air conditioning system for an automobile which is efficient in operation and contains only a minimum number of parts and is lower in manufacture cost than a well-known accumulator.
CONSTITUTION: An accumulator 10 has an inner housing 14 positioned within an outer housing 12. The inner housing 14 has a channel which forms a fluid- tight passage which follows a passage on one side extending to its bottom and next goes back the other side to an outlet orifice. A cap which has inlet and outlet orifices is fixed to the outer housing 12, and it seals both of the inner and outer housings 14 and 14 to prevent the leakage of fluid.
