Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain new N-alkylacetamidines useful as an intermediate for producing N-alkylacetamides useful as a germicide for agriculture.
CONSTITUTION: N-Alkylacetamidines expressed by formula I (X1 to X3 are H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkenyl, halogen or trifluoromethyl; R1 and R2 are lower alkyl), e.g. (E)-α-methoxyimino-2-(2,5-dimethylphenoxymethyl) phenyl-N-methylacetamidine. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting acetonitriles of formula II with an alkylamine of formula III. N-Alkylacetamides of formula IV useful as a germicide for agriculture is obtained by reacting the compound of formula I with a nitrous acid derivative. N-Alkyl-acetamides of formula IV can be produced in high yield by using a new intermediate of formula I.
