NEW MATERIAL: Compounds shown by formula I [R1 is H, alkyl, aralkyl, tris(alkyl)silyl, alkanoyl, alkoxycarbonyl, etc.; R3 is H, alkyl, R2 and R3 are bonded to each other; R is H, alkyl, aralkyl, tris(alkyl)silyl; Y is alkylene, formula II (Z is O, S; r and s are 0-8 to make (r+s) 2-8; n is 1-4, when n is 0, r is 0 but s is not 6].

EXAMPLE: 10-Hydroxy-16-(trimethylsilyl)-11,13,15-hexadecatriynic acid methyl ester.

USE: Remedy for mycotic disease and hypercholesterolemc condition.

PROCESS: For example, metallized acetylene of formula III (A is R4 or appropriate protective group; M is metal) is reacted with an aldehyde of formula IV to obtain a compound of formula V in which R2 is H, A is R4 in formula I.
