Abstract:

To provide an acrylic fiber tow for stretch break spinning, having two or more different cross-sections including a flat cross-section or a Y-form cross-section.

In the method of producing the acrylic fiber tow for stretch break, an acrylic polymer or a spinning dope composed mainly of an acrylic polymer is extruded through a spinning nozzle having two or more different cross-section forms including a flat cross-section or a Y-form cross-section into a coagulation bath and drawn 3-8 times in boiling water to obtain the acrylic fiber tow for stretch break spinning, wherein the ratio of (the extrusion linear velocity at the cross-section other than flat or Y-form cross-section)/(the extrusion linear velocity at the flat or Y-form cross-section) is 1.0-1.8. The spinning can be performed stably without causing the yarn breakage in the coagulation bath in the yarn-making process and good stretch break spinning can be performed without causing the bundle breakage.
