Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the ingredient which improves not only the compression set but also the weathering resistance and heat resistance of a vinyl chloride resin and further its elongation and tensile strength in an ordinary state by copolymerizing monomers containing a specified amt. of a cross-linking monomer.
CONSTITUTION: The ingredient comprises a core polymer and a shell polymer and is obtd. by copolymerizing monomers containing 10-40wt.% cross-linking monomer [e.g. a cross-linking monomer of the formula I (wherein k is 2, 3 or 4; and m is 1, 2 or 4 provided the product of k and m is 4, 6 or 8) or the formula II (wherein n is 4-8)] so that the core polymer comprising a rubbery polymer with a glass transition point of -30°C or lower is covered with a shell comprising a glassy polymer with a glass transition point of 80°C or higher. The ingredient improves not only the compression set of a vinyl chloride resin but also the weathering resistance and heat resistance and further its elongation and tensile strength in an ordinary state.
