Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an activated alumina catalyst and a method of removing nitrous oxide, with which nitrous oxide contained in a combustion gas can be efficiently removed at low cost.SOLUTION: The activated alumina catalyst removes nitrous oxide in a combustion gas and contains, as activated alumina, at least one selected from κ, δ, γ, η, χ, ρ and boehmite types or their mixture, and further contains 0.1-20 mass% of a base metal. The method of removing nitrous oxide includes the process of contacting the activated alumina catalyst with the combustion gas in a fluidized bed combustion furnace.
