Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily inspect a picture element defect of the active matrix type liquid crystal display device CONSTITUTION:The active matrix type liquid crystal display device which has picture element electrodes 9 formed on a picture element insulating film 8 formed of an organic material features the mixing of a light emitting element, which emits light with an electric field, in the organic material. The light emitting element is mixed with the picture element insulating film 8, so the picture element insulating film 8 can emit light by applying an alternating electric field between, for example, a scanning line 4 and the picture element electrode 9 and the intensity distribution of the light emission, etc., are checked to inspect the picture element defect.
