An actuation system for deploying and retracting a lift assisting device of a wing of an aircraft is presented. The actuation system includes: a track having a first outer side surface, a second outer side surface and a plurality of side surfaces and pivotally coupled to the lift assisting device; a shaft rotatably coupled to the inside of the wing of the aircraft and rotating in response to flight control signals to deploy or retract the lift assisting device; means that is mounted to the shaft and actuates the lift assisting device between a retracted position and a deployed position along an arcuate path; and a plurality of track roller bearings rotatably coming into contact with the first and second outer side surfaces of the track to guide the track along the arcuate path. The plurality of track roller bearings include at least one array-like track roller assembly.
