Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent excessive abrasion and stress in interlocking.
CONSTITUTION: An actuator 220 is provided which will apply a relatively smaller axial force upon preselection of an auxiliary section 14 shift for rapid initiation thereof upon release of an interlock 256. Upon disengagement of the interlock 256, the actuator will apply a larger axial force to assure rapid engagement of a selected auxiliary section synchronized jaw clutch assembly 92.
