Abstract:
To provide a novel actuator made from polymer fiber.SOLUTION: An actuator 10 comprises a polymer fiber 12, a stress application part 14 for applying tensile stress in the longitudinal direction of the polymer fiber 12, and a heating and cooling part 16 for expansion and contraction driving the polymer fiber 12 by heating and cooling the polymer fiber 12. The stress application part 14 applies tensile stress to the polymer fiber 12 after the polymer fiber 12 is expansion and contraction driven, such that the length of the polymer fiber 12 returns to or comes close to the length before the expansion and contraction drive.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
