Title:
ADAPTIVE DIGITAL FILTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3348845
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the number of registers and the power consumption and to speedily converge coefficients by performing coefficient adaptive operation by a non-pipeline processing according to input data and the filter operation data from a pipeline filter arithmetic circuit so that the filter operation data converges to a prescribed reference value.
SOLUTION: The pipeline filter operation circuit 100 performs filter operation by a pipeline processing according to input data xi and coefficient data Ci (where i is an integer between 1 and n) and outputs operation data y' and filter output data (y). A non-pipeline adaptive circuit 110 performs coefficient adaptive operation by a non-pipeline processing according to the input data xi and operation data y' so that the operation data y' outputted by the arithmetic circuit 100 converge to a prescribed reference value Y. The resulting coefficient data ci are outputted by the adaptive circuit 110 to the arithmetic circuit 100. Consequently, the number of registers needed for the adaptive circuit 110 decreases, the power consumption is reduced, and the delay decreases, so that coefficient adaptive operation can be performed at a high speed.
