To provide an apparatus to generate a transduced acoustic signal which coincides with a prescribed amplitude requisite within a range of an audio frequency under existence of an ambient acoustic signal.
The apparatus is a sound processor which includes a means 401 to analyze one acoustic signal in a lot of frequency bands and a means 403 to apply a variable gain to each frequency band individually. The gain is applied under control of many gain comparing means 409. Each of the gain comparing means makes many statistical distribution evaluating values with regard to each signal and compares the evaluated values with a prescribed value of an auditory response parameter stored in a memory 411. Many frequency bands whose gains have been corrected are recombined (415) thereupon, and a single acoustic signal is generated thereby.
