Abstract:
To provide a method for improving a probability to make successful reception and decoding of next retransmission by performing adaptation on a failure reason of previous transmission.
A data packet comprising a first number of bits encoded over a first number of symbols is transmitted to a receiver. If the receiver did not successfully decode the data packet, a negative receipt acknowledgement message is received along with metric information for the transmission. The data packet encoded with a varying number of symbols is transmitted to the receiver, wherein the varying number of symbols is a function of the metric information for the first transmission.
