Abstract:

PURPOSE: To elimiate a false signal component and noise component of an inter-frame signal difference representing the dynamic amount of a picture, by controlling the band pass characteristics of a time spatial filter according to the dynamic amount of the picture representing a picture signal.

CONSTITUTION: The threshold value of a core component discrimination and elimination in a coring circuit 8 by detecting a high frequency component with a two-dimensional spatial high frequency component detecting circuit 7. Then, an undesirable signal component of a low level forming a minute component in an absolute value β of the inter- frame signal component is eliminated, the noise level in vertical synchronizing signal period is integrated with a noise separation circuit 11 so as to change the threshold value of the core component discrimination and elimination in the coring circuit 9 by holding the result of integration for the vertical period. Then, the noise component of the low level forming the minute component in the absolute value β of the inter-frame signal component is eliminated, and an output signal of the circuit 9 is given to a discrimination control circuit 12 via an isolated point eliminating circuit 10 and a control signal processing circuit 5 and the circuit 12 is controlled with the integrating value of noise level, so as to change the time spatial filter coefficient generated at the circuit 12, allowing to adjust the coefficient converting characteristics.
