PURPOSE: To obtain an adduct in a high yield, by addition reaction of a silicon compound, e.g. a silane, with an organic compound having an aliphatic double bond in the presence of a platinum complex present in air in a stable state for a long time.
CONSTITUTION: A silicon compound, e.g. a silane, of formula I: (X is halogen, alkoxy, acyloxy group, etc.; R' is monofunctional hydrocarbon group; K is O, 1, 2, or 3; l is 1, 2, or 3; K+l=1, 2 or 3), having one or more hydrogen atoms directly bonded to the Si atom in one molecule is added to an organic compound, e.g. propylene, having one or more alkihatic double bonds in one molecule in the presence of a platinum complex, e.g. (1, 5-cyclooctadiene) Pt (C6H5)2, etc., of formula II: (A is 4W16C cyclic diene hydrocarbon; R is 1W15C mono-or bifunctional hydrocarbon group, and forms a 3W6C cyclic structure together with Pt) at 20W120°C to give an adduct having C-Si bonds.
EFFECT: Reaction can be carried out under mild and completely neutral considitons. Side reactions due to the acid catalyst can be suppressed.
