Title:
ADDITIVE FOR FUEL OIL COMPRISING DISPERSION OF METALLIC COMPOUND FINE POWDER AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5495605
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: An additive for fuel oil capable of suppressing nitrogen oxides in an exhaust gas sharply without reguring a large-scale device, obtained by dispersing fine powder of a metallic compound, e.g., Fe, Mn, Ni, etc., prepared by a specific method, into an organic solvent in a high concentration.

CONSTITUTION: An additive for fuel oil obtained by dispersing fine powder of a metallic compound into an organic solvent in a high concentration. The fine powder is prepared by reacting a bivalent salt of an inorganic acid of Fe, Mn, Ni, or Co with an alkali hydroxide in the presence of a normal salt of Na, Ba, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Ni, or Co of (a) naphthenic acid and/or an organic sulfonic acid and (b) an alkenyl carboxylic acid in an organic solvent, followed by reacting the reaction product thus obtained with oxygen or H2O2. The additive is used in an amount of about 0.02W0.2 wt% calculated as metal content based on the fuel oil.
