Abstract:
PURPOSE: The titled stable low-viscosity additive free from agglomeration, sedimentation or expansion, which comprises a specified anionic surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: An additive consisting of an anionic surfactant comprising an alkali metal salt or lower amine salt of a compd. of the formula (wherein R is 1W30C alkyl or alkenyl; A is 2W4C alkylene; n is 1W500) is obtd. by the addition of an alkylene oxide with an alkylphenol or alkenylphenol followed by sulfation with a sulfating agent such as anhydrous sulfuric acid and neutralization with a caustic alkali or lower amine. Then 0.01W5wt% said additive is added to an aq. slurry contg. 50W70wt% petroleum coke crushed to an extent such that at least 70wt% thereof passes a 200 mesh screen.
