To provide an additive for photographic paper for obtaining a photographic support which reduces a fogging phenomenon when added to paper stock in manufacture of a photographic support.

The additive for photographic paper comprises an aqueous solution of a polyamidopolyamine-epihalohydrin resin obtained by reacting a polyamidopolyamine (A) obtained by reacting an aliphatic dibasic acid and/or a derivative thereof (a-1) with a polyalkylenepolyamine (a-2), with a polalkylenepolyamine (b-1) and/or a polyethyleneimine (b-2) (B), and with an epihalohydrin (C).
