PURPOSE: To enable the omission of man-hours in processing by unnecessitating photo shielding masks, by a method wherein parts of tentative set hardening by ultraviolet irradiation are restricted to parts of positioning marks, and a film holder is made to serve the function of a mask plate for partial irradiation.
CONSTITUTION: A color filter 1 is held by adsorption to the film holder 3, and the position of the color filter 1 is set to that two position marks 1b formed in the color filter 1 can be observed through a through-hole 15 by means of a twin-objective microscope 6. After an adhesive 8 is dripped on a solid-state image pickup element 7, this element is placed on a chip mount 9. Two marked points 7a on the element 7 and the positioning marks 1b on the color filter 1 are brought into agreement by matching and at the same time adjusted in parallelism with adjustment screws 14 by finely moving the chip mount 9 or the film holder 3. The periphery of the positioning marks 1b and the marked points 7a is partly irradiated with ultraviolet rays through the through-hole 15 by means of a light source 16, and the solid-state image pickup element 7 is tentatively set to the color filter 1 by partially hardening the adhesive 8, and the adhesive is permanently hardened by heating.
