PURPOSE: To provide an adhesive compsn. which increases flexibility and improves processability of fibre treated with the adhesive, prepared by adding a specified sulfate to an adhesive liquid containing resorcinol/formaldehyde precondensate and diene rubber latex.

CONSTITUTION: Alkali metal sulfate or ammonium sulfate is added to an adhesive liquid which contains resorcinol/formaldehyde precondensate and diene rubber latex. Preferred alkali metal sulfates are sodium sulfate and potassium sulfate. The alkali metal sulfate or ammonium sulfate is added in 0.5W10wt% of the resorcinol content. When the amount is smaller than 0.5%, no effect is obtainable and when it exceeds 10wt%., the stability of latex is impaired. The adhesive compsn. is applicable to rayon, vinylon, nylon, aromatic polyamide, polyester, glass fibers, etc.
