Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition, comprising a neighboring epoxy- containing epoxy resin, a specific emulsifiable compound and water, excellent in emulsifiability and storage stability and capable of providing a cured product excellent in film strength, water resistance, etc., when cured with an active organic amino compound.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprises (A) a neighboring epoxy- containing epoxy resin, (B) an epoxy-containing emulsifiable compound obtained by reacting (i) a polyurethane bond-containing compound prepared by reacting a polyalkylene polyether polyol compound having 200-12000 average molecular weight and ≥80wt.% ethylene oxide content with an excess polyisocyanate compound with (ii) an epoxy compound having ≥0.1 OH and neighboring epoxy together and (iii) an alkylphenol ethoxylate having 300-5000 average molecular weight so as to afford 1/(1-100/(1-2) molar ratio of the components (i)/(ii)/(iii) [with the proviso that the equiv. ratio of the sum total of the components (ii) and (iii)/NCO in the component (i) is ≥1] and (C) water.
