Abstract:

To provide an adhesive capable of suppressing smoke emissions attributable to undergoing heat treatment and maintaining its own water solubility, to provide tire cord using the adhesive, and to provide a method for producing the adhesive.

The adhesive comprises a resorcinol-formaldehyde resin containing 2-9 wt.% of a resorcinol monomer, ammonia and a rubber latex, being adjusted to pH7-11. In this adhesive, the resorcinol-formaldehyde resin is such as to be prepared by reaction between a resorcinol monomer and formaldehyde in the presence of a molecular weight regulator.
