To inexpensively provide a composition for oral ingestion, abundantly including ergosterol promoting secretion of adiponectin.
An adiponectin secretion-promoting composition includes mushrooms containing the ergosterol as an active ingredient. The composition includes the mushrooms in the form of powder or a liquid and one or the plurality of mushrooms selected from the group consisting of Lentinus edodes Sing., Auricularia auricula Underw., Grifola frondosa S. F. Gray and Ganoderma lucidum Karst. are preferable. Furthermore, rice embryo oil containing -oryzanol is contained as the active ingredient. The composition for oral ingestion includes the adiponectin secretion-promoting composition and the composition for oral ingestion is used for ameliorating obesity, ameliorating hypertension and lowering cholesterol. Amelioration of circulatory diseases such as arteriosclerosis and life style related diseases such as diabetes caused by the deterioration in the secretion of the adiponectin can be promoted.
