To obtain an absorbing tapping screw for female screw chips which can sufficiently coat a leg of a screw with a coating material, and which allows the reliable absorption of formed chips.

In an absorbing tapping screw for female screw forming chips, a screw comprising a head 2 and a leg 3 forming a screw thread 10 therein includes an internal thread 13 following a guide 12, a non-threaded part 14 at the rear of the internal thread 13, and an ordinary threaded part 16 at the rear of the non-threaded part 14. The leg 3 is coated with a coating material 6 containing a microcapsule in which a sucking liquid with proper viscosity is sealed so as to absorb and hold formed chips 22 formed during screwing by the coating material 6. The formed chips formed during screwing work are surely absorbed and held without falling through a prepared hole. The non-threaded part can be coated with the coating material in a large amount so that the formed chips fitted in a space with the internal threaded part can be prevented from staying therein. Even a long groove in the non-threaded part can also absorb and hold the formed chips.
