PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorption heat pump system and a cold generation method capable of efficiently generating cold.SOLUTION: A heat pump 10 comprises: an evaporator 12; a high-temperature evaporator 13; a first main adsorber 14; a second main adsorber 16; a regeneration assist adsorber 18; and a condenser 20. During a cold generation mode, steam generated by adsorption heat of the first main adsorber 14 (second main adsorber 16) is supplied to the regeneration assist adsorber 18 and an assist adsorbent 18A is regenerated.
