Abstract:

To provide an adsorption material for heat pumps which has an adsorption material structure which can quickly move generated adsorption heat, and also provide its manufacturing method.

The adsorption material for heat pumps has a whisker formed on the surface of its heat conductive member, the whisker comprising a metal oxide. The heat conductive member is a porous metal having connected through pores and contains an element which is the main component of the oxide whisker. A layer comprising a composition different from the heat conductive member is formed on the surface of the heat conductive member, and a metal element which is the main component of the oxide whisker is included. In the manufacture of the adsorption material for heat pumps, the heat conductive member or its precursor is heat-treated in the presence of a minute amount of oxygen to form the oxide whisker.
