Title:
ADSORPTION PROCESS FOR AMINE OR AMINE SALT RECOVERY FROM AQUEOUS BRINE SOLUTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3860852
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover amines and amine salts by adsorption onto an adsorbent resin from a high ionic strength aqueous solution.
SOLUTION: (A) An aqueous solution having (i) high ionic strength corresponding to about 5-40 wt.% Nail concentration and containing (ii) nitrogen compounds (preferably amines, amine salts or mixture of amines and amine salts) is contacted with (B) a non-ion-exchangeable adsorbent polymeric resin copolymer to adsorb the component (ii) onto the component B and to remove the component (ii) from the component A. The adsorbed component (ii) is subsequently dissolved in a solvent and desorbed by washing the component B with the component (ii) adsorbed thereto with an effective amount of the solvent effective as a remover. The aqueous solution as the component A is preferably an aqueous brine solution of byproducts from interfacial polycondensation of a bisphenol and phosgene for producing the corresponding polycarbonate.
