PURPOSE: To remove odorous and injurious substances out of exhaust gas containing an organic solvent and the like generated in a chemical plant by constituting adsorption elements of different diameter composed of fiber-like active carbon formed into the hollow cylindrical shape on an adsorption body provided with spaces and interstructures facing concentrically each other in a manner of flowing gas to be treated through the constitution.
CONSTITUTION: A fiber-like active carbon adsorption body is constituted by laminating fiber-like active carbon of cloth shape or felt shape such as made from polyacrylonitrile around a breathable core material to form hollow cylindrical absorption elements 1 and 2 of different diameter, forming spaces among respective adsorption elements and interstructures and combining them together into the circle center shape. Also one or a plurality of feed pipes 8 for regenerated gas are set at equal intervals in annular spaces in the combined adsorption elements 1 and 2. Gas jet outlets are formed in multiple lines in the vertical direction on respective gas jet feed pipes 8 in the peripheral direction of the annular spaces. Also the desired calorie can be retained by attaching heat- receiving and-giving fan-shaped components 17 on the wall surfaces of interstructures constituting the adsorption body.
