To provide an aerosol-generating article including an aerosol-forming base substrate used to generate inhalable aerosols when heated.SOLUTION: An aerosol-generating article (10) comprises a plurality of elements assembled in a shape of a rod having a mouth-side end (70) and a distal end (80) located upstream from the mouth-side end. The plurality of elements include an aerosol-forming base substrate (20) located at or toward the distal end of the rod. An elongated susceptor (25) is arranged in a substantial longitudinal direction inside the rod and in thermal contact with the aerosol-forming base substrate (20). Using an electrically operable aerosol-generating device having an inductor, the susceptor allows the article to be consumed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
