Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for controlling death of the cell, by. adding a volume-sensitive Cl- (chloride ion) channel blocker, because cell contraction recognized in case of apoptosis is controlled when the action of the Cl- channel is controlled by the blocker, and various apoptosis reactions thereafter are inhibited, and consequently the death of the cell is controlled.
SOLUTION: This agent for controlling death of the cell contains the volume- sensitive Cl- channel blocker as an active ingredient, wherein the volume- sensitive Cl- channel blocker preferably comprises at least one kind of compound selected from a group comprising stilbene derivatives (4-acetamido-4'- isothiocyanatostilbene-2,2'-disulfonate and 4,4'-diisothiocyano-2,2'- stilbenedisulfonate), a carboxylic acid derivative [5-nitro-2-(3-phenylpropylamino)- benzoic acid], niflumic acid, glibenclamide, and fluothylene.
