Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an agent for removing CO2 by decomposition which is produced easily and handled simply, obviating the need for CO2 recovery and treatment by decomposing it, and to provide a method for removing CO2 by decomposition.
CONSTITUTION: An agent containing LaF3 as an effective component is provided for removing carbon dioxide by decomposition. In the method for removing carbon dioxide by decomposition, a carbon dioxide containing gas and LaF3 are subjected to the catalytic reaction to remove the carbon dioxide by decomposition. The reaction can be carried out by passing the carbon dioxide containing gas through a treatment vessel packed with the agent.
