PURPOSE: To obtain the subject lubricant containing a specific substance having anti-AIDS virus activities, useful for preventing AIDS infection only by applying it in vagina, etc., and useful for the people of advanced age to conduct copulations smoothly.
CONSTITUTION: This AIDS infection preventing lubricant comprises a substance having anti-AIDS virus activities (preferably an acid polysaccharide, especially a carrageenan). Furthermore, a lubricant prepared by blending a water-soluble high polymer including the acid polysaccharide (preferably the part of which is substituted by hyaluronic acid or its alkali metal salt), a polyvalent alcohol (e.g. propylene glycol, etc.), an antiseptic agent such as a parabenzoate and water, and adjusted to have 5-10000cps viscosity is preferable, and e.g. a substance extracted from Rhodophyceae is preferably used as the above carrageenan.
