Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer surface developing type air bag device capable of developing an air bag along a vehicle body outer surface without generating a clearance between the vehicle body outer surface even when the vehicle body outer surface is convex to an external side of a vehicle body or is concave to an internal side of the vehicle body.
SOLUTION: The air bag 1 includes a lower panel 6 which faces to the vehicle body outer surface in development and an upper panel 8 on an opposite side. A tongue part 16 is provided in a periphery of a center part of the lower panel 6, and the lower panel 6 is formed so as to be pursed to the periphery of the center part by the tongue part 16. Therefore, the air bag 1A expands in a concave shape to a side of the lower panel 6 as a whole and develops by closely contacting along the convex vehicle body outer surface.
